Operational Standards & Expertise
The standard for reliable legal videography in Hawaii.
Founded by Andrew Graves, Akamai Legal Video provides mainland firms and local attorneys with an uncompromising standard of technical precision. Andrew built his foundation of expertise recording thousands of depositions across California's most demanding legal markets, including Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and Sacramento. Today, that wealth of hands-on experience drives our operations in Hawaii. We hold a flawless track record—having never lost a single minute of testimony—because we operate strictly on documented protocols designed to protect your evidentiary record.
Absolute Neutrality and Industry Compliance
Akamai Legal Video operates strictly as a neutral third party. Adhering to the highest industry standards, our operators will go on the record at the request of any attorney present, and will only cease recording upon the explicit agreement of all counsel present. Every proceeding is managed with unbiased professionalism. We actively monitor the room and are trained to interrupt proceedings only when absolutely necessary to protect the record, such as in the event of acoustical interference or technical difficulties.
Uncompromising Technical Redundancy
A reliable visual record demands rigorous technical fail-safes. We mandate a minimum of four microphones for every deposition to isolate and capture clear audio. The official record is continuously monitored and backed up to at least two separate recording devices in addition to our primary camera. To ensure a pristine visual record, we utilize fluid-head tripods, require all recording equipment to be kept completely off the conference table, and manually calibrate all camera settings—including focus, iris, and gain—for every unique environment. Videographers arrive a full hour early to guarantee the room is optimized long before the witness arrives.
Protecting the Verbatim Record
We view the court reporter as a critical partner in the deposition process. Our setup is designed to be clean, respectful, and highly collaborative. We offer direct, tested audio feeds to the reporter's equipment if requested, ensuring they have the clearest possible signal from the very start. To further protect the verbatim record, we always provide the court reporter with a reliable backup audio file at the end of the day.
