Coverage without the travel line

You schedule into Hawaiʻi a handful of times a year. We work here every week. When you assign to us, the file comes back the way it would from any of your mainland regulars: same deliverables, same formats, same standards, without a mainland airfare on the invoice or a videographer losing a day to the flight.

The problem you're solving

Hawaiʻi is not short on people who own a camera. It's short on people who shoot depositions as their full-time trade, and you usually can't tell which one you booked until the file lands. By then the witness is gone, the room is closed, and the fix is a motion nobody wants to write. We do this every week, statewide, and the file lands the way you expect it to.

Akamai is run by Andrew Graves, who has recorded about 2,000 depositions, most of them in the Bay Area and Sacramento. We're already on the vendor list at most national agencies, so check yours before onboarding someone new.

Notice and scheduling

Oʻahu: A day ahead. If it's tighter, send it anyway.
Hawaiʻi Island: Home base. Kona, Hilo, and everywhere between.
Maui: For a morning start, we fly in the night before.
Kauaʻi: For a morning start, we fly in the night before.

Short-notice requests are worth sending. If we can't cover it we'll tell you as soon as we know, rather than leaving you waiting on a maybe.

Deliverables

One camera on the witness, two independent recorders, matched timecode. A clean audio mix feeding the record. Master cards are forensically imaged to E01 before the media leaves our hands, and every file produced from that acquisition is SHA-256 hashed and listed in a manifest.

You get trial-ready MP4s in the format your shop uses, on a password-protected link. Signed authentication reports are available on request for any in-person job recorded under Media Preservation, identifying the equipment, the process, and the hash values, executed under penalty of perjury.

Remote and hybrid

Hybrid rooms statewide, with a Jabra conference unit kept separate from the audio feeding the record. We can feed the platform your reporter uses or host on our own Zoom license. Remote videography and technician coverage are on the network rate sheet.

Turnaround

Tell us your deadline and we'll work to it. If the transcript is going out Friday, the video does too. If you need rough footage the next day for a witness-prep call, say so when you book and we'll plan the day around it.

Working with your reporter

We arrive early and set up before the room fills. The reporter gets a clean direct feed if they want one, arranged quietly and without a production conversation in front of the witness. At the end of the day we hand over a high-fidelity backup audio file to support accuracy in the certified transcript.

Your client stays your client

On your jobs, we're your videographer. We don't solicit your client or pitch our other services, and billing questions go back to you. If your client wants the signed authentication package, it's yours to resell.

W-9 and vendor onboarding paperwork returned the same day you ask for it. We invoice on your terms and your forms.
